Today I went and met with Kay who is the nurse practitioner in charge of the Releana weight loss program.  The link provided is not the actual location that I am going to it, but it is a very similar program.  My location is in an upscale salon and spa.  Very strange.  You can get a mani and pedi and oh, by the way here is some hcg hormone that comes from the urine of pregnant women.  You would think it would be in a medical office.  You would think I would be worried.  But I’m not.  I’m desperate to lose weight remember? 

So Kay is one of those trippy dippy new age types.  Nothing against that, but it’s just not me.  She even mentioned hypnosis but I will go into that later.  She had me crying within the first three minutes.  Something about how I have built this wall around me to keep people out.  Hmmm.  Could be or I just love pizza and ice cream.  I’m not sure. 

Anyway, so she did this metabolic test on me that showed my metabolism is a little slow for my age group.  During the test you lay down and she hooks you up to this machine that measures your breath and somehow determines your metabolic rate.  Also had to go to the lab for blood tests.

I have my Releana which is the hcg hormone in the sub-lingual form.  Which means you mix the powder and liquid and put it under your tongue twice a day.  For the first two days you get to eat whatever you want.  They especially recommend high fat foods.  This sounds great, but you sort feel guilty about eating when you have just spent $600 to lose weight.  Oops, did I say that out loud.  That is how much it cost for one month + plus the blood work.  I will officially start tomorrow and I have to go back in two weeks.

Here is the before picture of me at a starting weight of 305 lbs.  This is so scary for me to post but I’m trying to be real and honest with myself in hopes of finally beating this weight thing.

So awful.  I know.  I know.  I especially love that I have on white so it shows everything.  Keepin’ it real.  I will keep you posted.
